Child & Adolescent Therapy
Specialized Support for Young People Ages 3-18 in Elm Grove, WI and Virtually Across Wisconsin
The Right Support Does Not Change Your Communication. It Learns Your Language.
Some children cannot yet find the words for what they are feeling. Some teenagers have the words but nowhere safe to say them. Some young people have tried traditional therapy and walked away feeling more misunderstood than when they started. None of that is a failure. It is information about what kind of support they actually need.
At Depth & Clarity Psychology, child and adolescent therapy adapts to each young person rather than expecting them to adapt to therapy. From Child-Centered Play Therapy for younger children to creative, activity-based, and skills-based approaches for teens, every service is built around how your child actually communicates, processes, and heals. And throughout all of it, caregivers are not on the sidelines. They are part of the process.

What to Expect From Child and Adolescent Therapy at Depth & Clarity
Child and adolescent therapy at DCP is not about sitting across from a therapist and answering questions about your feelings. From the first session, your child or teen’s therapist will be genuinely curious about them. Not just what is going wrong, but how they think, how they communicate, and what they need to actually feel supported.
Child-Centered Play Therapy. For Ages 3 Through 10.
For younger children, play is not a distraction from the real work. It is the real work. Child-Centered Play Therapy gives children a safe, accepting space to communicate, process, and heal through their most natural language. Offered exclusively in person at our Elm Grove, WI office, in a dedicated play therapy space designed specifically for this work.
Creative and Skills-Based Therapy. For Ages 11 Through 18.
For older children and teens, therapy adapts to how they actually communicate. Sessions are client-led, activity-based, and built around each young person’s interests, communication style, and goals. Whether that means art, movement, conversation, or practical skill-building, the approach meets them where they are. Available in person at our Elm Grove, WI office or virtually across Wisconsin.
Caregiver Involvement. You Are Part of This Too.
Caregivers are not on the sidelines at DCP. Regular check-ins are built into the process, giving you the opportunity to share observations, ask questions, and develop strategies to support your child outside of sessions.
You will leave with a better understanding of your child and practical tools to strengthen your connection at home.
Private Pay. What That Actually Means for You.
Child and adolescent therapy at DCP is private pay. No diagnostic data shared with third parties. No insurance-imposed limits on the number of sessions your child needs. No treatment plan built around a billing code rather than your child’s actual progress. Just the time and space to do this work right.

Specialized Approaches for Every Stage of Growing Up.
Most therapy practices offer one approach and ask every child to fit into it. At Depth & Clarity, the approach fits your child. For younger children that means Child-Centered Play Therapy, where play is the therapeutic language. For tweens and teens it means creative, activity-based, and skills-based therapy that respects how your child actually communicates and what they actually need. For the young person who has tried therapy before and left feeling like it was not built for them, this is what comes next.
Every approach we use is built around one core belief: that your child does not need to change how they communicate to get better. They need support that meets them there. Support that actually works because it was built around them.
