Your Child Does Not Need to Be Fixed. They Need to Be Understood.

Child-Centered Play Therapy and Creative Adolescent Therapy for Children and Teens Ages 3-18 in Elm Grove, WI

Child Playing Blocks

Talk Therapy Is Not the Only Kind of Therapy.

Some kids shut down in traditional therapy. Some refuse to go back after the first session. Others sit and stare at the ceiling while a therapist asks how they feel. This is not a problem with your child. It is a problem with the approach.

Play, creativity, and connection are not just activities. They are how children communicate, process, and heal. Kayla specializes in therapy that works with how your child actually communicates, not how a therapist assumes they should. For children ages 3 through 10 that means Child-Centered Play Therapy where play is the language. For tweens and teens ages 11 through 18 it means creative, activity-based, and client-led therapy that honors who they are and how they show up in the world. Throughout all of it, caregivers are not on the sidelines, they are part of the process.

Creative Therapy for Every Kind of Mind.
Serving Ages 3-18 in Milwaukee, WI

The Feelings Are Too Big and the Words Are Not There Yet.

For children whose anxiety, worry, or emotional reactions feel overwhelming and impossible to put into words. Kayla provides a warm, steady space where big emotions can finally be understood, expressed, and worked through at your child's own pace.

They Do Not Need to Talk About It. They Need Space to Show You.

For children ages 3 through 10 who communicate best through play, art, and creative expression rather than sitting across from a therapist answering questions. Kayla uses Child-Centered Play Therapy to create a space where every child gets to show up exactly as they are.

They Have Always Felt Like They Were Following a Different Rulebook.

For neurodivergent children and teens who have spent years adapting to spaces that were not built for them. Kayla's flexible, strengths-based approach works with how their brain actually functions, honoring their unique way of experiencing the world.

Being a Teenager Is Hard. Finding Someone Who Actually Gets That Is Harder.

For teens navigating anxiety, identity, self-esteem, friendships, and the pressure of figuring out who they are. Kayla meets adolescents where they are through activity-based, creative, and client-led therapy that never requires them to perform or pretend.

Meet Kayla

Kayla is a licensed professional counselor in training at Depth & Clarity Psychology specializing in child and adolescent therapy for ages 6 through 18 in the greater Milwaukee area. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Play Therapy specialization from Lipscomb University, a specialized credential that means she is specifically trained to meet children in the way they most naturally communicate.

Her work draws on Child-Centered Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Expressive Arts, Sandtray, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Always through a warm, strengths-based, and neuroaffirming lens that adapts to each child's unique way of experiencing the world rather than expecting them to adapt to therapy. She specializes in anxiety, emotional regulation, neurodivergent youth, identity, self-esteem, and life transitions.

Kayla sees clients in person in Elm Grove, WI and believes caregivers are an essential part of the therapeutic process, not an afterthought. Every young person who works with her leaves with a stronger sense of who they are and what they are capable of.
